Snowy Forest

This piece features my characters in a snowy forest, following a trail left by their missing friend. 
I really wanted to focus on the storytelling for this illustration, with three pairs of footprints behind the characters and only one pair leading toward the viewer, accompanied with blood splatter. Which suggests something unfortunate has happened. 
I chose to make red the only colour in the piece so it would stand out from everything else. I used white for the flame to draw the eye of the viewer to the characters as they are the main focus of the scene and attempted to frame them using the branches of the forest.
